GCTA-Youth India Coordinator (Full Time Position)

The Global Coalition of TB Advocates (GCTA) invites applications for the position of GCTA-Youth (GCTA-Y) India Coordinator. This position offers a unique opportunity to lead and coordinate youth-focused initiatives to combat Tuberculosis at the national level. The GCTA-Y India coordinator will report to the CEO and will also support effective implementation of GCTA programs and initiatives with the goal of building a people- centred rights-based response to TB at a global level.

Background

The Global Coalition of TB Advocates (GCTA) is a coalition of TB affected individuals bringing the lived experience of TB to the global platforms towards a people-centred rights-based response to TB. GCTA endeavors to bridge the gap between civil society organizations and other stakeholders, while ensuring that community is involved in all TB processes. Since its inception in October 2013, the GCTA has contributed significantly to the global and regional TB agenda through its network of activists, achieving a number of significant milestones along the way. Roles and Responsibilities

The GCTA-Y India Coordinator will be responsible for working closely with the Program Manager and the Communications and Advocacy Manager to maintain the smooth operation of GCTA projects and communication with GCTA-Y stakeholders.

The responsibilities of the GCTA-Y India Coordinator will include:

  • Develop and lead GCTA-Y India regional meetings and training sessions
  • Foster collaborations and adapt global guidelines to the regional context
  • Work with the GCTA-Y India steering committee to develop and execute advocacy agenda
  • Support GCTA program activities, including scheduling, coordination, and documentation
  • Help plan and organize program-related events, webinars, and meetings
  • Maintain and nurture relationships with program partners, participants, and supporters
  • Support program manager in collaborating with national and regional partners as required
  • Support the drafting of community centred advocacy briefs, brochures, training material, social media posts and reports as required

Knowledge, Skills & Abilities

  • Master’s degree in Social Science/Public Health/other relevant fields
  • 2 years of experience of working with civil society and community-based organizations, preferably with a focus on TB
  • Below the age of 30
  • Sharp interpersonal and networking skills
  • The working language of GCTA is English. Any knowledge of an additional UN language will be an asset
  • As a global organization working with partners across time zones, flexibility with work timings is needed
  • Good track record of working in the non-profit sector managing projects
  • Ability to work as part of a global team
  • Should be willing to travel as the position may require some travel
  • Previous experience in program support or communication is a plus
  • Understanding of Gender, Rights and Key Populations in TB will be an added advantage

Contract Details

Applicants from Delhi are preferred. Salary commensurate with experience.
