Program Assistant

GCTA invites applications for the position of Program Assistant, reporting to the Program Manager, to support effective implementation of our programs and initiatives with the ultimate goal of building a people-centred rights-based response to TB at a global level.

Background

The Global Coalition of TB Advocates (GCTA) is a coalition of TB affected individuals rights-based response to TB. GCTA endeavours to bridge the gap between civil society processes. Since its inception in October 2013, the GCTA has contributed significantly to the global and regional TB agenda through its network of activists, achieving a number of significant milestones along the way. Role and Responsibilities

The Program Assistant will be responsible for working closely with the Program Manager and Communications and Advocacy Officer to maintain the smooth operation of our projects and communication with our stakeholders.

The responsibilities of the Program Assistant will include:

  • Bachelor’s degree in any relevant field
  • 4 years of experience of working with civil society and community-based organizations with a focus on TB
  • Sharp interpersonal and networking skills
  • The working language of GCTA is English. Any knowledge of an additional UN language will be an asset
  • As a global organization working with partners across time zones, flexibility with work timings is needed
  • Good track record of working in the non-profit sector managing projects
  • Ability to work as part of a global team
  • Should be willing to travel as the position may require some travel
  • Previous experience in program support or communication is a plus
  • Understanding of Gender, Rights and Key Populations in TB will be an added advantage

Contract Details

This is a global position and the incumbent will work remotely. Salary commensurate with experience. The contract is for 12 months with possibilities of extension on the basis of performance.
